GTI utilizes the most up to date methods for mold testing using state of the art equipment and technology.
Mold Testing
During the detailed physical mold inspection a moisture meter will be used on the walls and floors to detect any moisture or dampness existing within the walls. A thermo-hygrometer will also be used to measure temperatures and humidity within the building and individual rooms. High humidity typically creates a perfect environment for potential mold growth. GTI's Certified Mold Inspectors will utilize a variety of testing methods to obtain the best results including:
- Controlled Air Testing (Air-O-Cell)/Anderson N-6 Sampler
- Mold Culture Plates (Air and HVAC Testing)
- Carpet Testing
- Clear Tape Lift Sampling
- Swab Samples of Visible Mold
- Fiber Optics Inspections
- Mold Scrapings
- Bulk Sampling (collecting contaminated building materials)
Once testing has been completed the samples are examined in an IAHA accredited laboratory. Microbiologists, in order to identify all molds present in the sample, examine 100% of the samples obtained. All samples are reported, by specie, in the total quantities sampled.
Costs and Services
GTI will initially conduct a detailed physical mold inspection prior to
any mold testing. The physical inspection will be performed by a GTI
Certified Mold Inspector, of both the interior and exterior of the
property, followed by suggested recommendations for mold testing.
